The Book of Mormon and Bible tell a story about a group of people that wanted to get to heaven so they built a tower. God was mad at these people for trying to reach him and confounded their language.
In the 1950's-60's people decided once again to reach the heavens, this time instead of a tower they built a rocket. They launched the rocket. They reached the heavens, they touched the moon and God didn't care.
Arguably we are even worse than the people at the tower of babel, not only have we reached space, the moon, other planets in the solar system, and left the solar system, we have scientists that have cloned life. Not human life due to the ethical questions that raises but life all the same.
Where is our global calamity to put us in our place and to stop us from collaborating with each other?
